About this project
Find the Jam is a free fan project for searching every Disco Biscuits show in plain words: by song, length, sandwich, tease, year, place or drummer era.
Ask it like a person
Try “30 minute Spacebirds”, “Spacebird sandwiches”, “Crickets in Philly” or “first Loose Change with Marlon”. If it misreads you, the “Searching for” chips show what it understood, and “Something off with this answer?” sends us the search.
Where the information comes from
- Setlists, segues, notes and jam chart: the Biscuits Internet Project. Every show links back to its page there.
- Song lengths: the Nugs release when there is one, which is the authority. For older shows without a release we use Archive.org tapes, and the answer says when a length comes from a tape.
- Listening: links to Nugs, Archive.org and Relisten. We don't host any audio.
How things are counted
- A song counts once per show, even if it returns later in the same show. This matches how BIP counts times played.
- A segue is a song flowing into the next, written with >. A sandwich is the same song opening and closing a run, with other songs in between.
- Eras follow the drummer: Sammy, Allen and Marlon.
- Lengths come from the recording. When one Nugs track holds several songs, the first song carries the full track length and the page says so.
Reading the set strips
Each bar is one set drawn to scale. Songs joined by a segue share a rounded group. A sandwich is outlined in red. Striped means no length on record, a ragged end means unfinished, and a bright start means inverted.
Good to know
- It is a work in progress. New shows are added by hand for now, so the newest shows can be missing for a while.
- Some older shows have no length for a song. Those show “?:??” or a striped block.
- Not affiliated with the band, BIP, Nugs, Archive.org or Relisten.
